In choosing what subjects to cover in the magazine, we are guided by feedback from our readers.
As a large proportion of our readers have mobility impairments, much of our content is directed towards this sector of the disabled community. However we aim to include material that is of interest to all disabled people, ranging from accessible holidays to legislation updates.
Able magazine is not, in the obvious sense, a campaigning publication; it is a lively, go-ahead lifestyle magazine which highlights – for the benefit of both our readers and the wider world – everything that disabled people can do.
We believe in the social model of disability – that people are disabled by physical and social environments which do not accommodate their needs, not by any physical, sensory or learning impairments.
