Based in Portsmouth on the South Coast of England the DSA Ro-Ro Sailing Project was formed in 1992. More than 10,000 disabled people, their families and friends have now sailed with the Ro-Ro project! This is the only organisation that has spacious, purpose built yachts with the facilities to accommodate all types of disability.
Arriving in Portsmouth, the beautiful waterfront city, you will stay for two nights on a £250,000 fully accessible yacht in the fabulous marina at Port Solent, set against the vibrant backdrop of the boardwalk restaurants, bars and shops.
The weekend will give you the opportunity to relax and soak up the unique atmosphere, as you take in the fascinating views and marine wildlife or alternatively, you can opt for the more hands on approach and learn how to sail. At the end of the day you will receive a certificate as a ‘Ro-Ro competent crew’ member. Whatever your disability you can do as little or as much as you like.
Meals and drinks are provided, with all sorts of goodies available on the yacht.
Terms and Conditions
The prize includes two nights accommodation on the yacht, with meals and drinks included. The training course for sailing is optional. The prize is not transferable nor can any cash alternative be offered. Transport costs are the responsibility of the winner. Prize must be taken by 1 March 2009.
